"Nothing noble in Chernobyl"

Films: The Chernobyl Diaries (2012)

Alias: Various

Type: Mutant

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of average humans.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Lo and behold, one of the greatest displays of mankind's hubris. A testament to wanting to burn the candle at both ends, never once thinking about the consequences. Here lies the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, abandoned by humanity...at least, that which hasn't been mutated.

History: In an act of sweeping stupidity, a couple of tourists decided to tour, on their own terms, the ghost town of Pripyat, a place left barren by the infamous disaster of Chernobyl. At first, it's all fun and games as they supposedly stay safe. Then they start noticing animals acting unnaturally. Then the van out of here doesn't work. Then their guide is found dead. Then they realize that there are horribly mutated people still stalking the land.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After the utter chaos the couple and their friends go through, only they survive, and while one is gunned down by Russian soldiers, the other is locked with mutants for knowing too much.

Powers/Abilities: Incredibly radioactive.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 4-These people survived one of the worst nuclear disasters of all time, but they probably wish they didn't. Aimless, ravenous, and malformed all over, these mutants are akin to a zombie horde, except they're alive. Barely alive, that is.

Trivia: -The Chernobyl disaster of 1986 was a result of the power plant located in Soviet-owned Ukraine tampering with a new kind of reactor. A combination of flimsy design, inexperienced workers, and poor communication resulted in the reactor exploding and rendering both the plant and everything surrounding it (the town of Pripyat included) virtually uninhabitable for centuries to come. To this day, Pripyat and the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone have become the inspiration for many a horror story due to being modern-day ghost towns. The kicker? This was all the result of a safety test.

-On the subject of mutations, the people didn't become vicious mutated predators. They just malformed a bit and died slow painful deaths. The animals on the other hand actually managed to adapt and thrive in the Exclusion Zone to some capacity, though life is short around the area.
